Course Information
The Online Fitness Instructor Course by the Swedish Academy of Sport Training (SAST) is a professional program designed to qualify participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to work as fitness instructors. The course covers the fundamentals of personal training, program design, practical exercises, sports nutrition, and general fitness. It is designed to provide trainees with the scientific and practical expertise required to improve performance and achieve desired results in fitness centers or to pursue a professional career in sports coaching. The course is suitable for all interested individuals, with an accredited certificate awarded upon passing the exams.

Eligibility for Registration
You can register for the course if you hold one of the following qualifications:
- A "Fitness Instructor Assistant" certificate.
- A student at a university, college, or institute of Physical Education and Sports.
- Documented practical experience in the field of fitness training for at least two years.
- A documented high-level athlete in any sport.

Study Duration
Total Program Duration: 174 training hours, to be completed within a maximum of 3 months from the date of registration.
Online Study (130 Hours):
- Studying theoretical material from the scientific curriculum and course book.
- Watching training videos and listening to audio lectures on the Academy's platform.
- Completing chapter quizzes and the final theoretical exam via the SAST platform.
Practical Application (40 Hours):
- Practicing as a coach in a fitness center.
- Under the supervision of SAST and in cooperation with fitness center management in the student's country.
Final Practical Exam (4 Hours):
- Includes preparation and performance of the final practical exam.

Exams and Passing Criteria
The evaluation is divided into theoretical and practical components:
Theoretical Exams
Conducted electronically via the platform with instant grading.
Chapter Quizzes:
The student must pass a number of mandatory quizzes before proceeding to the final exam, as follows:
- A mandatory quiz for each chapter of the theoretical material.
- Each quiz contains no more than 10 multiple-choice questions.
- Exam time is based on the number of questions (one minute per question).
- The passing grade for each quiz is 80%.
- Quizzes can be retaken an unlimited number of times by each student.
- The final theoretical exam cannot be taken until all quizzes have been successfully completed.
Final Theoretical Exam:
- The student is allowed to take the final exam after successfully passing all mandatory quizzes.
- The student must pass the final exam with a minimum score of 60%.
- The final exam consists of 50 multiple-choice questions, each with four possible answers.
- The duration of the exam is 50 minutes from the start time.
- Each student is allowed a maximum of two attempts to pass the exam.
- Students who do not pass within the two attempts may request an additional attempt for an extra fee of USD 50 per attempt.
- The final practical exam cannot be taken unless the student has passed the final theoretical exam.
Final Practical Exam of the Course
- The final practical exam includes a variety of training cases, and one case is randomly selected to be the trainee’s exam topic.
- The description of the training case to be performed in the exam will be displayed at the start of the exam within the “Exams” section of the Academy’s platform.
- The trainee must record a video of the exercises outlined in the training program, performing the exercises themselves with moderate weights, ensuring no audio is recorded.
- The practical exam is conducted in the fitness gym for approximately 30 minutes.
- The video must be uploaded via the Academy’s learning platform to be evaluated by the judging committee.
The exam is conducted according to the following details:
- Preparing the Training Program:The trainee must prepare a training program for a single training unit consisting of at least 10 practical exercises based on the training case assigned in the exam.The program must include instructions on how to perform each exercise for 10 repetitions using moderate weights, focusing on accuracy of execution and the correct sequence of exercises.
- Evaluation Criteria and Passing:Performance is evaluated with a final result of either “Pass” (with possible feedback on performance) or “Fail” if there are major errors affecting execution.
- Retaking the Exam:A student who does not pass may retake the exam for an additional fee of $50 USD per attempt.
- Requirements for Taking the Practical Exam:The final practical exam can only be taken after successfully completing all previous theoretical and practical course requirements.
Final Grade Calculation:
- Practical Exam: 50%
- Theoretical Exam: 25%
- Practical Application: 25%
(Students must pass all three components to receive the certificate).
Graduation Certificate
Upon successful completion, students receive a certificate accredited and documented by:
- Swedish Academy of Sport Training (SAST)
- Global Council of Sport Science (GCSS)
- International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE)
- Register of Exercise Professionals Tunisia (REPS Tunisia) – For Tunisian students
- The International Confederation of Registers of Exercise Professionals (ICREPs) – For Tunisian students
- Ministry of Vocational Training and Employment (MFPE) – For Tunisian students

Stage Description
- 40 hours of practical training at a fitness center as a trainer, under the direct supervision of the center’s management.
- The training is conducted by completing two forms: the Training Approval Form and the Performance Evaluation Form, both available in the Exams section.
- After completing the training period, both forms must be uploaded to the Academy’s platform and must be signed and stamped by the fitness center where the training took place.
- The student cannot proceed to the final practical exam unless the practical training is successfully completed.

Video Exam

The program must include instructions for performing each exercise for 10 repetitions using medium weight, with emphasis on accuracy and correct exercise sequence.
2. Evaluation and Passing Criteria:
Performance is evaluated with a final result of either “Pass” (with possible feedback) or “Fail” if there are major errors affecting execution.
3. Retake Policy:
Students who do not pass may take an additional exam for a fee of USD 50 per attempt.
4. Practical Exam Requirements:
The final practical exam can only be taken after successfully completing all previous theoretical and practical course requirements.
