Course Information

This course takes you into the world of TV football analysis, transforming match viewing from an emotional experience into a precise analytical reading of on-field events. It aims to develop your ability to understand tactics and analyze both individual and team performance professionally on camera. 

Participants will learn how to turn match events into clear and impactful analysis, linking visual observation with tactical insights and data, while developing their own unique style as TV analysts. The course also focuses on moving from surface-level commentary to deep analytical thinking, enabling learners to deliver professional and influential opinions in sports media.

Eligibility

Anyone passionate about football and sports media who wants to enter the field of TV analysis or improve their ability to read matches and analyze performance professionally.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Understand TV analysis concepts and match-reading fundamentals
  2. Differentiate between emotional and objective analysis
  3. Apply individual and team performance analysis principles
  4. Interpret tactical systems during matches
  5. Understand offensive and defensive transitions
  6. Analyze space and positioning on the field
  7. Interpret players’ body language and behavior
  8. Use statistics and data in TV analysis
  9. Develop on-camera presentation skills
  10. Build a personal identity as a TV analyst
  11. Apply ethics in sports and media analysis
  12. Interact professionally with audiences and media
  13. Produce impactful analytical opinions

Duration

The course consists of 56 study hours and must be completed within one month from the registration date. It is fully online and includes theoretical materials, course books, videos, and audio training content, with a 100% self-paced learning approach.
Students must complete quizzes and a final theoretical exam via the academy platform.

When and How to Start

Students can enroll and start anytime, from anywhere (24/7). Course materials and exams become available immediately after registration, offering full flexibility in learning.

Exams and Passing Requirements

All theoretical exams at The Swedish Academy of Sport Training (SAST) are conducted electronically, with questions randomly selected from a question bank derived from the official theoretical curriculum of the training course and delivered through the academy’s platform.
Answers are graded automatically and instantly, allowing students to view their results immediately after completing the exam.
The structure for conducting tests and exams, as well as the course’s pass/fail system, is as follows:

1. Module Quizzes
Students must pass a number of mandatory module quizzes before proceeding to the final exam, as follows:

  • One mandatory quiz for each module of the theoretical course.
  • Each quiz contains no more than 10 multiple-choice questions.
  • The exam duration depends on the number of questions (1 minute per question).
  • The passing score for each quiz is 80%.
  • Students may retake quizzes an unlimited number of times.
  • The final exam cannot be taken unless all module quizzes have been successfully completed.

2. Final Exam

  • Students are allowed to take the final exam only after successfully. passing all mandatory module quizzes.
  • The required passing score for the final exam is 60%.
  • The final exam consists of 50 multiple-choice questions, each with four possible answers.
  • The exam duration is 50 minutes from the start time.
  • Each student is allowed a maximum of two attempts to pass.
  • Students who do not pass after two attempts may request an additional attempt for a fee of $50 per extra attempt.

Certificate

After completing the course and successfully passing all exams, students will receive a certificate of completion sent directly to their email and stored in their personal profile on the academy platform.

The certificate is accredited and certified by:

  • The Swedish Academy of Sport Training (SAST)
  • Global Council of Sport Science (GCSS)
  • International Council of Sport Science and Physical Education (ICSSPE)
